LOS ANGELES, Calif. July 19 - Android-based console, Ouya, has launched a funding program for studios utilizing Kickstarter called "Free the Games". The company is willing to match Kickstarter funds ranging from $50,000 to $250,00, the catch, eligible games must agree to be an Ouya exclusive for six month - doesn't really sound that "free" now does it?
Those interested in applying for the fund must launch their Kickstarter campaign between August 9 of this year and August 10 of next. Ouya will also be kicking down an additional $100,000 to the most successful project. The fund will continue until it is exhausted and prospective studios should check out the Ouya website for more details.
