LOS GATOS, Calif. July 31 - Cryptic Studios' free-to-play D&D MMORPG, Neverwinter, has breached the two million players mark, publisher Perfect World Entertainment announced yesterday.
The game officially launched a little over a month ago, on June 20, making its player base count quite impressive. Activision also recently announced continued falling subscribership to its still juggernaut of an MMO, World of Warcraft.
Cryptic has plans to expand Neverwinter's content with its first update titled Fury of the Feywild. The addition will feature a new zone called Sharandar, as well as a new quest structure for when players venture into the new area. The patch will launch on August 22.
Perfect World also released a trailer to accompany the 2m player announcement.
