Interest In World of Warcraft Deteriorating, Subscriptions Fall From 8.3M to 7.7M

IRVINE, Calif. July 28 - 600,000 World of Warcraft subscribers have jumped ship since Activision Blizzard's last quarterly report, according to some preliminary information released by the publisher/developer.

This brings down the MMO's estimated 8.3m subscribers to 7.7m, which still surpasses any other MMO and still maintains the status of being the most popular MMO ever.

Blizzard has made some adjustments to recover WoW's losses, including the implementation of in-game purchases. Additionally the studio has promised to deploy content patches more regularly to keep the game as fresh as possible. Nearing on its 10th birthday, it would be difficult to keep the game from suffering creative fatigue.
