CAMBRIDGE, Uk. July 1 - Jagex lays off 13 employees from its Transformers Universe team, the UK developer confirmed to Eurogamer today
The layoffs do not "adversely impact" the developers' flagship MMO title, Runescape, Jagex explained.
"Having reviewed the remaining work required for the upcoming Transformers Universe launch we have made the decision to scale the development team back slightly," Jagex said in a statement.
"The vast majority of the Transformers studio will be unaffected by this move." Jagex continued. The studio will also be reallocating a "significant portion of" the Transformers team "to support the upcoming release of RuneScape 3 in HTML5 and the RuneScape 3 on tablets project slated for the end of the year". "Regretably", Jagex was not able to find room for the 13 laid off employees.
