IRVINE, Calif. July 8 - Blizzard will collaborate with Chinese internet company NetEase, to bring the Irvine-based studio's upcoming f2p digital TCG, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, to Chinese audiences, the companies announced on Monday.
Prior to this most recent three-year licensing agreement, the two firms have collaborated over a multitude of projects, the first being in 2008. Ever since the partnership has brought Battle.net, StarCraft 2 and World of Warcraft to the Chinese market.
"We are very excited to be bringing a new game to China from Blizzard, and we believe Hearthstone will be a hit with gamers here," said NetEase CEO and founder William Ding. "We're working closely with Blizzard to prepare everything needed for launching Hearthstone in China, and we look forward to providing players with another great gaming experience."
Hearthstone will release on PC, Mac and iOS on a date yet to be disclosed.
