Mattrick Wanted Microsoft to Purchase Zynga Since 2010

SAN FRANCISCO, July 8 - Former Xbox head and now CEO of Zynga had his eyes on the struggling social games firm back in 2010, reported Bloomberg. According to the business website, Mattrick had negotiated with Zynga's former CEO and founder Mark Pincus about Microsoft purchasing the company along with its social games.

"The idea was to bolster Microsoft's Xbox line-up with social games that then were adding millions of users on Facebook's network each week," read the report.
Zynga's then and now are vastly different, but hopefully the social games firm will reestablish itself as a company worthy of envy rather than dismissal under the leadership of Mattrick.
